Child Protection & Safeguarding

At Next Generation School, safeguarding our students is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by Islamic values of compassion, integrity, and accountability, we believe that every child has the right to feel safe, valued, and protected—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is broader than child protection. It is the proactive approach we take to protect students from harm and ensure their holistic well-being. It includes:

Protecting students from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
Preventing neglect or unsafe environments
Promoting mental health and emotional resilience
Ensuring online and digital safety
Creating safe, respectful learning spaces

At NGS, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility—staff, students, and parents alike.

Our Islamic ethos teaches us that protecting the vulnerable is a divine duty. Our practices are designed to embody Prophetic compassion, care, and attentiveness. We aim to raise children who feel secure not only in their environment, but also in their faith, identity, and sense of belonging.

A trained Child Protection Team (CPT) led by our Designated Child Protection Officer (DCPO)

All staff and community members are encouraged to speak up. If you have a concern about a child’s safety or well-being, please speak to our DCPO or any member of the Child Protection Team. All concerns are handled with care, confidentiality, and urgency.
